We may not see some fierce competition among girls this year as "Australia's Next Top Model" may not be returning to Foxtel.

Foxtel's top rating fashion reality show "Australia's Next Top Model" may not be around this year due to the troubles that the network faced in finding the right replacement for the show's original host Sarah Murdoch.

According to the source of The Daily Telegraph, the host that the network had in mind backed out that led to the decision that the show will be shelved this year.

However, this was answered by a spokesman for Foxtel saying that they did not offer anyone a hosting gig for the ANTM.

There were unconfirmed rumours that Foxtel was targeting Aussie supermodel and Victoria's Secret pin-up girl Miranda Kerr. However, the model did not confirm the rumors.

The show's judge Charlotte Dawson said she was yet to receive any details regarding the schedule for ANTM's next series. However, according to her interview with The Sunday Telegraph, she said, "I'm the last to know - I read most of what is happening with this show in the papers."

Murdoch resigned from her role as the program host and co-executive producer in December. She replaced Jodhi Meares as host in 2008. Last year's seventh season of the show - which crowned Montana Cox - was the most successful to date.
