No Doubt's New Album Out on Sept. 25
Look who's coming back from a hiatus.
Ska and New Wave icon No Doubt is coming out with its first album in 11 years. According to the band's official website, the new collection will come out on September 25 as part of the group's return to the music scene.
The group last album was The Singles 1992 - 2003, a compilation of the band's critically and commercially successful hits, which was released back in 2003. The band went to an indefinite hiatus in 2004 when the band members went with their personal music projects. The members reunited in 2009 for a tour, performing in more than 50 concerts in the US and Canada.
The upcoming album has no title yet, according to the website. But No Doubt released a couple of teaser tracks, including the ska-pop single "One More Summer" and the party-reggae "Steady Down." Other details will be soon posted on the band's website.
The group heralded the popularity and revival of the ska genre in the 1990s, mixed with the heaviness of rock. The group is composed of lead singer Gwen Stefani, Tom Dumont (guitars), Tony Kanal (bass), and Adrian Young (drums). No Doubt was formed in 1986 in Anaheim, California and rose to popularity in 1992, when their single "Don't Speak" entered the top of the charts.
Lead singer, Gwen Stefani, is also a popular and successful artist in her own right. Her singles "Hollaback Girl" and "Wind It Up" achieved commercial and critical success. Guitarist, Tom Dumont, likewise released a solo project, Invincible Overlord.
Drummer Adrian Young lent his artistry for Bow Wow Wow's tour in 2004. He will also be playing for the upcoming album of Dilana, Rockstar: Supernova runner-up. Not to be left out, bassist, Tony Kanal, collaborated with pop-funk artist Pink on the Funhouse album, in which he co-wrote and co-produced some of the songs.
