No Fresh Porn Films in Coming Days as Industry Mulls Nationwide Moratorium on Filming Due to HIV Positive Finding on X-Rated Actress Cameron Bay (VIDEOS)
There would likely be no fresh porn output from the adult film industry in the U.S. after the Free Speech Coalition called for a moratorium on production, following lab tests that confirmed X-rated actress Cameron Bay is positive for HIV.
The call made by the trade organisation came despite no evidence that the 28-year-old actress acquired the dreaded disease on set.
The owner of Adult Talent Managers LA, Mark Schecter, who represents the actress, said that Ms Bay is distraught with the medical findings - confirmed by two separate tests made by Cutting Edge Testing and Talent Testing Services. But she is cooperating with the medical staff to ensure her partners were notified as quickly as possible.
The partners include freelance porn actor Xander Corvus, who in turn, had unprotected sex with Sydney Leathers, the sextmate of disgrace New York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner. Mr Corvus portrayed Mr Weiner in the debut porn flick of Ms Leathers titled Weiner and Me.
"As difficult as this news is for me today, I am hopeful that no other performers had been affected," Ms Bay said in a statement. "I plan on doing everything possible to assist the medical professionals and my fellow performers. Following that, my long-term plan is to take care of myself and my health," she added.
With the findings, Ms Bay would no longer be able to act in porn films and would have to face rising medical bills due to her treatment. Aurora Snow, a recently retired porn actress, confirmed that adult film performers have no health insurance because there is no union in their industry, leaving them no safety nets when tragedy hits.
The incident would bolster the argument of authorities that porn actors must always wear condoms when filming sex scenes based on an LA County measure that was approved by voters in 2012, but is being resisted by the industry.
