The “No Man’s Sky” Pathfinder update has been launched by Hello Games, and it’s a big one. It adds a plethora of things to the game including, PlayStation 4 support, weapon specialization system, a ship, base-sharing, permadeath mode and new vehicles. New graphics features have also been added and the game should now look better on all PS4s.
Some of the graphics features included in the “No Man’s Sky” Pathfinder update are HDR mode for compatible monitors and televisions, improved post-processing with several filter options, Crepuscular Rays from the Sun, high contrast lighting effects, horizon-based ambient occlusion, more accurate ambient lighting and high and ultra resolution textures. One can find all the details of the Pathfinder update on the “No Man’s Sky” website. 4K rendering on PC is now optimised. Players can expect 4K resolution on PS4 Pro, the only PS4 Pro feature for the game.
“No Man’s Sky” base-sharing feature means players can share their bases across the Internet with Steam Workshop. Players can use it to find and rate bases. The ship specialisation feature has four categories - Shuttle, Fighter, Hauler and Explorer. Ships are now rated as per their classes, namely, A, B, C and the rarest being S. Players, when buying a new ship, can trade their current ship for a discount. Then there are the new Exocraft vehicles.
These Exocraft vehicles in “No Man’s Sky” can be summoned from anywhere on the planet they were built in. It will be an immense addition in terms of combat, planetary navigation and mining. The three vehicles, Nomad, Roamer and Colossus, have different attributes. Players can always make a course and create a time trail and then challenge others to beat it, writes GameSpot. The Pathfinder update also adds the Permadeath mode, which is extremely tough. The consequences of death will be absolute.
Moreover, there is the super-tough mode, Survival, whose difficulty level has been increased further. New trophies have also been added to these modes. The Mission Log will allow players to track multiple tasks at once. The user interface has been made simpler. The update has also brought various “quality of life” improvements, Discovery menu improvements and a photo mode. The “No Man’s Sky” Pathfinder update is a massive one. Players may take some time to get familiar with the many changes.
