No Mega-Fight: Pacquiao Camp Denies Bout Against Mayweather is a Done Deal
So much for the supposed superbout.
Michael Koncz doused cold water over the recent hot news that the mega-fight will happen in September 2014 to immediately put an end to what was after all, a wild rumour which stemmed from a YouTube video that was posted on December 13.
"Don't believe that story unless Manny or I tell you it’s true,” Koncz said Filipino scribe Ronnie Nathanielsz in two articles here and here which were posted late Thursday afternoon.
According to 78SportsTV, who made the YouTube commentary, their source confirmed that both sides have already sealed the deal.
"Everything else that you will see will be just theatrics from here on out. But the fight is already done,” according to the unnamed source. Watch full video below:
Koncs completely debunked the author’s claims however saying that he and Manny are just enjoying the holidays at the moment and no deal has been finalized.
“I already had a brief conversation with Manny but it’s Christmas time, New Year’s time. We’re gonna enjoy the holidays, Manny’s enjoying time with his family,” stated Koncz.
“Just heard the news from the camp, it’s not true! LIES!” posted a known close associate of Pacquiao in his social media ccount.
With two unimpeachable sources already denying the fight is a done deal, it is back to square one for every boxing fan’s fantasy of a Mayweather-Pacquiao bout.
