An overzealous fan was elbowed and kicked by NOFX frontman Fat Mike during a concert in Sydney when he jumped on stage. It was all good, though, the punk rock singer and the fan apologised to each other afterwards.

On Tuesday night, the U.S. group was performing at a stage in Sydney when Alexander Medak jumped onto the stage for a chance to share the spotlight with his idols. His first big mistake was going to the stage, the second was throwing his arm around Fat Mike, who was surprised by his new company on stage.

Fat Mike, whose real name is Michael Burkett, had been complaining of neck pain throughout the show, so when someone suddenly grabbed his neck, his initial reaction was perhaps understandable. He pushed Alex’s arm away and elbowed him in the face, causing Alexander to fall down. But it didn’t end there. While Alex was down, Fat Mike also kicked him in the face, then continued playing his guitar while the security was taking the fan away.

Alex took to Twitter to reveal his identity as the fan who got elbowed and kicked by his idol on stage. It appears there are no hard feelings, though. He even apologised to the 47-year-old rocker for “creepin up” on him, blaming his impulsive action to his drunk state. Fat Mike also apologised to him for reacting violently. He then invited him to the band’s show on Friday, saying he’d buy him a beer if he shows up.

I'm sorry too Alex, I was in terrible pain all night. When you grabbed me by the neck I defensively reacted... offensively @alexanderpeterq

Alex, if you go to the show on friday I'll buy you a beer. Just don't throw it at me alright? — Mike Burkett (@FatMike_of_NOFX) November 5, 2014

Alex replied that he would love to see the band at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney; however, he couldn’t afford to go. The band’s tour manager Stephen Garrett then replied to him, saying he would just put him on the guest list.

@alexanderpeterq what's your full name? Guest listing for Friday

Alex kept defending his idol to the people who criticised the singer for his violent reaction, saying it was actually his fault.

@SanchosTacoShop @FatMike_of_NOFX Don't blame him. He said his neck was in pain and I still went up and obviously hurt him — Alex. (@alexanderpeterq) November 5, 2014
