Nokia Lumia 1520 Lands Down Under: 'It’s a Compelling Reason to Switch'
Nokia Australia officially announced that its newest 4G smartphone is coming to the Land Down Under exclusively at Harvey Norman on Dec 11 for a RRP of AUD $899. This includes a free $20 app voucher for the Windows Phone Store with every purchase valid until Jan 15, 2014.
"There's a growing demand for mobile devices that have the power, speed, and screen size to handle the demands of busy life and enable people to be more productive. As capturing and sharing images and video become more instinctive ways to communicate and express yourself, we believe the additional screen size and next level imaging technology of devices like the Lumia 1520 will give people a compelling reason to switch," said Steve Lewis, Nokia Australia's managing director.
"We're excited to be the exclusive launch partner for Nokia's first large screen smartphone at our stores and online. We've seen a wave of innovation in this new segment of the smartphone market - driven by consumers' desire to get more from their mobile device. Imaging is also a key selling point for our customers - with the arrival of Instagram and Nokia Lumia's track record in this space we're confident this will be a stand-out product in our smartphone offering," Geoff Van Der Vegt, Harvey Norman's General Manager-Technology & Entertainment.
The Nokia Lumia 1520 is the company's foremost smartphone with a large screen and with Nokia's most up to date revolutionary imaging technology - 6-inch, crystal clear 1,080p full HD display, 20 MP PureView camera with optical image stabilisation, zooming capabilities, Nokia Camera and Nokia Storyteller apps.
The new Nokia Camera app puts together Pro, Smart and video imaging modes in one screen for easy accessibility.
The Nokia Storyteller apps can collate pictures on a map. With its auto video playback in Smart modes, users can take animated Cinemagraph pictures and bursts of images.
The Nokia Rich recording captures audio for a more real-life video capturing.
The Nokia Lumia 1520 has a slim size measuring 8.7 mm deep. This sleek design already includes a built-in wireless charging.
With Nokia's recent partnership with Microsoft, the Nokia Lumia 1520 comes with software updates for Windows Phone. It also has a ready access to HERE's suite for free - HERE Maps, HERE Drive and HERE Livesight and Nokia's free music streaming service, Nokia Music. And since Twitter Vine and Instagram were now available on Windows Phone 8, the Nokia Lumia 1520 can also capture and tweet short looping videos for sharing images on Twitter and Instagram.
For the business people who are always on the go and do most of their work through mobile, the built-in Microsoft Office allows easy access to Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. The large screen display is beneficial for reading calendar, email and notes.
