Norman Reedus recently had a real life encounter with a fan who "lost her mind” over the weekend. The “Walking Dead” star was bitten by an excited female fan during a zombie convention.

Reedus obtained a bite to the chest while attending the Walker Stalker Con held in New Jersey over the weekend. According to TMZ, a representative for the event recounted how the security personnel at the event jumped into action when a female fan suddenly opened her mouth and bit Reedus’ chest during the meet and greet part of convention.

The actor, who plays Daryl Dixon in the hit AMC series “The Walking Dead,” was unharmed since the bite didn’t break his skin. Police enforcement also told TMZ that Reedus won’t be pressing charges against the female fan. The fan was also banned from the event.

The surprising event was also witnessed by former “The Walking Dead” actor Michael Rooker, Undead Walking reported. Rooker played the character Merle Dixon in earlier seasons of the zombie apocalyptic series. He was standing beside Reedus when the female fan bit the actor.

The overly eager fan had been waiting in line for a photo opportunity with the two actors, according to reports. When it was her turn to get her picture taken, she was said to have told Reedus that she likes to pretend that they were married. When the biting incident happened, security ran to pull her away from “The Walking Dead” actor.

The female fan also took to Instagram in sharing an image of her with the two “The Walking Dead” actors during the event, according to Undead Walking. Apart from stating how she was able to finally meet “the love of her life,” she also apologised to Reedus in her Instagram post.

“Finally meet [sic] the love of my life and got banned from the rest of the CON and lose two more $100 photo ops with him because I lost my mind … ,” she wrote. “Got so excited standing beside him … & just turned my head and bit him! I don’t know what came over me. It wasn’t my intention to hurt him. I’m sorry, Norman!”

Meanwhile, Reedus also shared a funny message on Instagram to remind his fans not to bite him. He uploaded a picture of himself with the line “Do Not Bite Me” written on the front of his shirt. Reedus captioned the image, “Uhm, please don't.”

Reedus, along with other “The Walking Dead” stars, are currently on their midseason winter break. The “Walking Dead” season 6 will premiere in the U.S. on February 2016.
