Norman Reedus Gives ‘Silent Hills’ Update
The moment the trailer for "Silent Hills" was shown, the fans went ballistic. Hideo Kojima is a video game legend in his own right, working on the "Metal Gear: Solid" franchise since the PlayStation One era and the underrated "Zone of the Enders" games for PlayStation 2. He is joined by Hollywood legend and Pop Culture icon Guillermo del Toro of "Pacific Rim" and "Hellboy" fame for the first next generation "Silent Hill" game.
Joining the two directors is veteran actor Norman Reedus, best known for his role as Daryl Dixon in AMC's "The Walking Dead." The actor will be doing both motion capture work and voice acting for the still unnamed protagonist of "Silent Hills." While details of the game are slim IGN revealed that Reedus recently gave some details about his involvement with the game on popular community site Reddit where he took questions from fans.
He revealed that he was asked by both del Toro and Kojima to be in the game and revealed that the "heavier stuff" has yet to be filmed, indicating that the high drama present in most Silent Hill games will still be in the game. "I'm super excited to be a part of that. Both those guys (Kojima and del Toro) are geniuses at what they do."
"Silent Hills" was first teased in Gamescom 2014 via a mysterious demo on the PlayStation store entitled "P.T.," which would later be revealed as a playable teaser for the new game. Players would have to solve puzzles while being haunted by a female ghost called Lisa. Upon completion of the demo, players were treated to a shortcut scene that featured Reedus and eventually the title of the game.
As of now, there have been no release dates confirmed nor have there been any announcements on which console the game will be released in. Seeing as the "P.T." demo was released on the PlayStation Store there will likely be a PlayStation 4 version, though it is unsure if it will be exclusive to Sony's next-gen console or if it will eventually be available for Xbox One or PC.
