North Korea Editorial: 2012 Will Be An Important Year
CNN - North Korea advised its people to demonstrate loyalty to the death for the new leader Kim Jong Un.
State media KCNA exposed North Korea's yearly New Year's Day note indicating that the whole army must put in supreme trust, follow Kim Jong Un and become his devoted defenders.
The jointly published editorial can be read in North Korea's leading newspapers. It is often analyzed by South Korean officials and foreign authorities to check indicators of the region's intents and regulations for 2012.
Presently, there are about 28,500 U.S. military personnel assigned in South Korea, which according to North Korea is the major barrier to the reunification of the people in Korea. The U.S assisted the South in the war that happened from 1950-53 and kept troops in place being a restriction against the North.
The editorial also modified the assault against the South Korean government lead by Lee Myung-bak, calling the authorities "traitors" for restricting more designations to Pyongyang to pay respect to the former Kim Jong II.
KCNA highlighted a statement from the National Defense Commission telling Pyongyang "will have no dealings with the Lee Myung-bak group of traitors forever."
The Unification Ministry of South Korea claims that the released statement as "regretful." But the ministry's standards to ease conflicts between the two parts of Korea and resolving troubles by way of discussions remain still.
The editorial also showed that North Korea is at the highest point of finally opening the doors of a booming country.
North Korea declared that 2012 is an essential year since it marked 100 years since founder Kim Il Sung was born. It's the year of the "juche" or independent.
The editorial publicized the saying, "Glorify this year 2012 as a year of proud victory, a year when an era of prosperity is unfolding, true to the instructions of the great General Kim Jong Il."
But North Korea still keeps on requesting the international group for food assistance, since the region doesn't hold adequate food for the people. Plus the economy has been severely affected by long time negative decisions and neglect from the leaders.
North Korea did not discuss anything about its nuclear weapons, a few of the things that the U.S. demands to stop in exchange for food assistance.
