North West's First Birthday Party: Kim Kardashian Faces Backlash for Making Baby Nori Wear Non-Flashy Dress

North West - baby of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West celebrated her first birthday on June 21 and had a gala party, which was named "Kidchella." Baby Nori's birthday party seemed inspired by the famous Coachella festival, which happened some time back. The Kardashian family got together and turned their Calabasas, California home into a huge party ground.

Kim however did face backlash on certain Web sites for dressing baby Nori in a very non-flashy outfit. In the comments section of Hollywoodlife.com, readers have called the choice of outfit as "ugly" and shoes choice as "pathetic." Readers were probably expecting North to dress up in something colourful like red on her special day and hence got disappointed.

For the special occasion, Kim Kardadashian dressed North West in a very different and stylish beige tan dress with a fringe. The best part of her attire was her cute chic sandals shaped-boots from the brand Joyfolie "Jayla." To accessorize her sweet birthday dress, Kim made her cute daughter wear a headband made of wild flowers, completely with the theme. "North's birthday outfit #kidchella," Kim posted the picture of Nori's birthday dress here. In her birthday picture, the tiny tot is seen without those boots however. Were they too complicated for a small child to wear? Should Kim have chosen something simpler instead?

The extravagant and over the top party was organized at Kourtney Kardashian's huge backyard with a Ferris wheel, moon bounce and various tents. Kris Jenner captured the panoramic view of "Kidchella" themed party from Ferris wheel and posted the picture on her Instagram account. "View from the Ferris Wheel! #Norths1stBirthday #Kidchella," she captioned the picture, which can be viewed here.

There was karaoke session for the grownups and Kendall and Kylie Jenner were seen frolicking around and dancing on the songs of Rihanna's "We Found Love." Check out the video here. Kendall and Kris are seen wearing short skirts and everybody seemed to enjoy like a big grand family.

Kim herself was dressed in a simple white sleeveless dress and was seen holding baby Nori in her arms along with a happy looking dad Kanye West. The couple seemed to be singing "Happy Birthday" to baby Nori as they posed in front of yet-to-be cut extremely colourful three-tier birthday cake of baby North West. North seemed quite attracted to the colourful flowery cake and seemed to be happy on her special day. Check out the cake here.
