Northern Minerals Finds Highest Grade Heavy Rare Earths at Wolverine Prospect
Australian miner Northern Minerals had announced the discovery of heavy rare earth elements (HREE) at all four prospects of its Browns Range Project in northern Western Australia. It said its Wolverine prospect yielded the most outstanding HREE discovery.
Northern Minerals has returned 24 metres at 2.18% TREO from 96 metres including 7 metres at 5.35% total rare earth oxides (TREO), the highest heavy rare earth oxide (HREE) grade received to date from assays at the Wolverine prospect.
Northern Minerals has returned 24 metres at 2.18 per cent total rare earth oxides (TREO) from 96 metres, including 7 metres at 5.35 per cent TREO, the highest HREE grade so far from assays at the Wolverine prospect.
Following the discovery, Northern Minerals will move towards production, with further drilling and scoping studies to commence in the first half of next year.
Based on the results, Northern Mineral will develop a project to produce and deliver by 2015 at least 3,000 tonnes per annum contained heavy rare earth oxide concentrate.
