Norway PM Jens Stoltenberg became Taxi Driver (Video)
Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg amused not just voters from his own country but also people from different parts of the globe as he personally drove a taxi for a day to get to know his voters.
"It's important for me to hear what people really think. If there's one place where people say what they think, it's in the taxi," Mr Stoltenberg said.
To make the undercover believable, Mr Stoltenberg sport the local Oslo Taxi uniform, complete with badge. Riding a black Mercedes, he then went around the Norwegian capital to pick-up passengers. A hidden camera was installed inside the taxi to have all the raw reactions of passengers recorded.
There were amusing to hilarious reactions from the passengers.
"From this angle, he really looks like the prime minister," said one passenger whose intuition was working but still dubious."
One keen old lady recognised Mr Stoltenberg and asked the prime minister to do something about the ridiculous salaries of bosses and that they "should not make millions like that."
Surprisingly, Mr Stoltenberg was revealing some information about himself with some of the passengers. He admitted to a passenger who recognised him that he had not driven for eight years. For some passengers, this became pretty obvious as the Norway PM at one point drove the taxi with an abrupt jolt. He said he thought he was on the clutch while he was in fact using the automatic car's brake.
"I am not really happy about the driving," one passenger said.
"I guess I will leave," said another.
"Your driving is really bad," said an annoyed passenger.
However, Mr Stoltenberg was able to win the heart of an elderly passenger who recognised him.
"This has been nice ... I will vote Labour," the elderly said.
After experiencing being a taxi driver for a day, a local tabloid asked Mr Stoltenberg if he will consider driving a taxi full time if he failed the elections on September.
"I think that the country and Norwegian taxi passengers are better served if I were a prime minister and not a taxi driver," the Norwegian PM said.
Mr Stoltenberg did not ask for fare from his lucky passengers.
According to reports from local media, the video of the Norway PM driving taxi for a day was launched in all social media sites as part of the party's full-swing campaign in the hopes that Mr Stoltenberg will win the September election.
