Rachel McAdams’s “The Notebook” co-star and ex-boyfriend Ryan Gosling has a popular online “Hey Girl” meme, but the 35-year-old actress is aware of it.

The Canadian star appears on the cover of Allure magazine, in which she revealed what she thinks about Ryan’s Internet popularity, as well as how it was to work with Lindsay Lohan on “Mean Girls.”

“Hey Girl” is an online meme that features Ryan’s photos and texts beginning with, “Hey Girl...”

And although almost everyone who has ever used the Internet has seen at least one sample of the meme, there’s someone who used to be close to the actor who is indifferent.

“I know you’re not going to believe me, but I don’t follow it,” Rachel told the magazine.

It’s plausible, though. Rachel and Ryan dated from 2005 to 2007, briefly reuniting in 2008. The “Hey Girl” memes started in December 2008, around the time they have already split.

In the same interview, Rachel was surprised to learn that Lindsay was intimidated by her during the production of the 2004 teen flick “Mean Girls.”

“If anything, I was in awe of her talent. I looked at her as this experienced actor and had great comedic timing,” the modest actress said.

Meanwhile, Rachel was shown her audition tape for “The Notebook” at the U.S. breakfast show “Today.” The actress was visibly uncomfortable in watching herself in the clip, prompting hosts Al Roker and Matt Lauer to ask why she was squirming when she got the part.

Rachel is currently starring in the British spy thriller film “A Most Wanted Man,” with Willem Dafoe, Robin Wright and the late Philip Seymour Hoffman.
