Novak Djokovic Easy Winner in Opening Round of 2014 US Open [PHOTOS]
Novak Djokovic of Serbia got off to a roaring start in his 2014 US Open campaign after defeating Diego Scharzman of Argentina in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2, 6-4 in the first day of the final Grand Slam tournament of the year.
Compared to the warm-up tourneys leading up to the competition in Flushing Meadows, New York, this was a different Djokovic as he was in-form from the very first serve. The Serbian lost in the early rounds of the 2014 Rogers Cup and the 2014 Cincinnati Masters weeks before.
Scharzman was simply overmatched as Djokovic hit 24 winners and seven aces in the one-sided match.
