Novak Djokovic New Baby Due In A Month, Says No Schedule Changes In Tennis
World's no.1 Novak Djokovic revealed he is expecting a baby boy in a month or so but assured his tennis schedule will not be changed because of his baby's birth. Djokovic has confirmed his participation in the Masters 1000 events in Paris, Shanghai and ATP World Tour season finale in London next month.
Novak Djokovic and wife Jelena Ristic confirmed the arrival of their first born. "We are expecting it to happen in about a month," Djokovic said on Tuesday. "I'm supposed to play Paris and London. Nothing particularly changes in terms of tennis schedule."
The Serb, who has won 4 out of last five titles in China, is currently playing in Beijing China Open where he is once again defending his title. The 7-time Grand Slam champion took 85 minutes to beat the Canadian Vasek Pospisil 6-3, 7-5 and extend his winning streak at the China Open 21-0.
After his three consecutive defeats at the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 events in Toronto (l. Tsonga) Cincinnati (l. Robredo) and semi-final exit at the US Open to Kei Nishikori, the 27-year-old is looking to rediscover his top form as his third year-en as world no. 1 approaches.
Djokovic revealed that he works hard to be the world no. 1 and be the best in what he does. The 7-time Grand Slam champion went on to say that winning Grand Slams has been his priority and it is the main reason he is playing in Beijing and Shanghai for the year-end world no. 1 ranking.
Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic took to the social media to give a small insight on how a world no. 1 maintains a superb physical form by posting a photo of him performing a difficult stretch on his Instagram account. The photo shows the Serb casually resting his leg on the shoulder of his fitness coach with a caption, "Not as painful as it looks! Couldn't pull off some of my moves without a good stretch in the morning."
