St. George Illawarra Dragons centre, Josh Dugan, revealed that he has been in talks with his management for a possible move that would follow the footsteps of San Francisco 49ers rookie, Jarryd Hayne.

Dugan, who plays a similar style with Hayne and replaced the rookie at Origin level for the New South Wales, believes he could mimic Hayne’s successful transition from the National Rugby League (NRL) to America’s National Football League (NFL). Dugan said he is willing to gamble his NRL career for an opportunity overseas in playing American football, just like what Hayne did last year when he announced his pursuit of a stint in NFL.

“For me it wouldn’t be about whether or not I made it, it would be about going over and giving it the best I could and if I didn’t make it, I’m still 25 turning 26,” Dugan said, reports Fox Sports. “If I do get the opportunity I’d love to give it a crack.”

Dugan, a diehard fan of NFL team Baltimore Ravens, said he has been watching the American football league for 10 years. However, the Dragons fullback admitted that his priority right now is St. George Illawarra, with which Dugan has a contract until the end of 2017.

Meanwhile, Hayne has been struggling to maintain his spot with the 49ers after getting benched for the first time in his rookie season. The former Eel said he was disappointed by the team’s decision to put him in the inactive list during San Francisco’s 20-3 loss against the Seattle Seahawks, but Hayne immediately accepted the setback as a challenge in his young NFL career.

"It's a cut-throat sport. I know that,” Hayne said, reports Stuff. “We all know that. .. I'm just going to embrace it and keep working hard and move forward."

The 49ers will have the chance to bounce back from their fifth loss of the 2015-2016 NFL regular season when they face the St. Louis Rams in week 8 of the league.
