Which is a more shocking crime of passion - sexually assaulting a teenager or an animal?
A New South Wales man, now 53 years old, allegedly committed those despicable acts between 2003 and 2005, and is now facing 21 charges for both offences.
The incident happened at Coffs Harbour on NSW's mid north coast. The victim, then 13, was a dairy worker and a co-employee of the accused. The man befriended the teen and within the two-year period alleged sexually assaulted him.
He also forced himself on cows in the farm and even made the boy take part in the bestial act. The accused, who is from Toormina, was arrested on Wednesday.
Among the charges filed against him are sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, committing an act of indecency towards a person under 16 years of age in circumstances of aggravation, inciting an act of indecency and bestiality.
Besides arresting the accused, NSW police also searched his house and seized a computer and several computer-related items that will be subjected to forensic examination. The man was granted bail and scheduled to face the court on Feb 10, said Detective Sergeant Matt Zimmer.
People who have been charged with bestiality are often also involved in offences involving sex with a minor such as this man arrested in Darwin in 2012.
