NSW Policeman, Marc Osborn, Charged for Sex Video of 3 Women
Three counts of filming a person engaged in a private act, for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification was charged against NSW Policeman, Mar Osborn, 42.
Magistrate Janet Whalquist upheld that the videos of Mr Osborn were disturbingly sexual which only proved that he was a "competent and virile sexual performer," ABC News reported.
The court also said that the women filmed by Mr Osborn, while having intimate acts with him were not aware that they were being filmed.
Outside court, lawyer Greg Walsh told media that the women were at their most vulnerable state while being filmed by Mr Osborn. He also implied that Mr Osborn had put the police in a very bad light as a result of his controversial case.
"People feel confident when dealing with police. They should feel confidence and trust when dealing with a police officer," Mr Walsh said.
It was in August 2012 when Mr Osborn bought a clock online with a secret recording device. He used this clock to record his sexual encounters.
A report from The Daily Telegraph revealed that Mr Osborn was having sexual intercourse with a total of 33 women, seeing four of them each day.
Lucky for those 30 women, Mr Osborn was only able to video three of them whom he met through online dating sites. He admitted that he had shown these videos to his colleagues in the police force as butt of joke.
However, Mr Osborn denied that he feels sexually satisfied with the filming and boasting and reasoned that his act was just a manifestation of "boys being just boys". He also said that he showed these videos to prove his "maleness" with the rest of the younger officers in the force.
Consequently, when Mr Osborn's commanding officer learnt about the sex videos, Mr Osborn was suspended from his job without pay.
Those colleagues who were able to see the videos testified in court and revealed that Mr Osborn referred to his sexual partners as "events" or "incidents".
The Police Professional Standards which got hold of Mr Osborn's mobile phone told court that he was fond of sending group text messages to all of his women.
The Daily Telegraph was also able to interview one of the women whom Mr Osborn had videotaped who chose to hide in anonymity with the name Ms BB, 31, a single mother of two.
Ms BB said that she was the women whom Mr Osborn had sex with at his Nissan patrol police vehicle. She revealed that even if Mr Osborn was on duty, there were able to sneak to his police vehicle. She said that they dated for over a year. They met during New Year's Eve in 2009 when Mr Osborn offered to drive her home following a drunken brawl with another girl in a spa. Inside the car, Mr Osborn gave him more vodka and asked her for a head job.
"Devastated, I was devastated. I felt so betrayed. Why shouldn't the police have a duty of care to these vulnerable women? Why should the fellow officers not have a duty to have acted properly and said, hey Osborn, this is a disgrace and report him to internal affairs," Ms BB said in the interview.
