New York City police arrested four protesters Monday on Wall Street for wearing masks and one demonstrator, who jumped over a police barricade and resisted arrest.

Police spokesman Paul Browne said the arrests were made because groups of people wearing mask is illegal.

On Saturday, two protesters wearing masks were also arrested while attempting to enter a building where the Bank of America holds office.

Meanwhile, the number of protesters at the Chase Manhattan Plaza dwindled to 200 on Monday from 1,000 at the start of the protest rally on Saturday.

The protesters are demanding the creation of a commission that will stop the influence of money on Washington officials, according to Businessweek.com.

The protesters also marched around Wall Street and Broad Street chanting,"All day, all week, occupy Wall Street."
Police have designated walkways for the protesters and allowed pedestrians to use sidewalks between Broadway and William Streets.

Police also designated Broad Street and Exchange Place adjacent to the New York Stock Exchange as protest areas, though the demonstrators did not use it.

Browne had warned that protesters who obstruct pedestrian traffic will be arrested. The group called Adbusters called for the protest that could last for months.
