“The OA” season 2 is surely happening and it is expected to provide more revelations. It is likely that the second season will answer one of its fans’ biggest questions in season 1, which is if French (Brandon Perea) and Homer (Emory Cohen) are the same person.

In the first season of “The OA,” French was searching Prairie's house. Suddenly, he looked into the mirror but he did not see his reflection. Instead, he saw Homer staring back. This has led viewers to believe that Prairie (Brit Marling) is only making up the story about Homer and that the latter's character is based on French. There’s a possibility that Prairie has been lying all this time.

Marling, who has also co-created the show, has addressed speculations that her character is lying, saying it does not really matter as much if the details are true. “Maybe it doesn’t matter as much if the details are true, because there’s some essential core that she’s imparting that smacks of honesty,” she said.

“The OA” co-creator Zac Batmanglij has also commented about Prairie and her story. He said he believes that the trauma in her story is true. The character is traumatised about her near-death experiences.

Batmanglij thinks the main character of “The OA” could not only share her story as how it actually happened, but she experiences something. The details do not really matter as “The OA” season 1 viewers have a lot of different interpretations of Prairie’s story.

As for the connection of French and Homer, Express has noted one theory saying the characters are versions of a person from different dimensions. Despite differences, both have a similar scar on the forehead. “The OA” showrunners did not confirm the assumption to be true but “The OA” season 2 is likely to shed light on the issue.

“The OA” season 2 might also reveal who the shooter was. One Reddit user has noticed that the shooter’s eyes are green, which could mean that the school shooter is no other than Homer. The Redditor has noted that when Prairie, also known as OA, opened her eyes and told others that she can see again, she stared at Homer and said, “Your eyes are the richest green."

Apart from Marling, the series also stars Emory Cohen (Homer Roberts), Scott Wilson (Abel Johnson), Phyllis Smith (Elizabeth "Betty" Broderick-Allen), Alice Krige (Nancy Johnson) and Patrick Gibson (Steve Winchell) among others. “The OA” season 1 has aired in Australia on Netflix. It has received a 72 percent critical approval rating from Rotten Tomatoes. “The OA” season 2 release date is expected to be announced in the near future.
