The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) named of Wednesday Australia as the best country to live in and its capital, Canberra, the best city where to reside.
The basis of the OECD was its assessment of nine measures of well-being such as income and education, with 10 as a perfect score.
Australia got a total score of 76.5 out of 90, followed by Norway with 72.3, 5 the opposite end is Mexico which got a total score of only 15 and was notably 0 for safety, housing and accessibility to services. Next to Mexico are Poland, Hungary and Turkey.
Canberra pulled the biggest surprise by coming out number 1 because it got three 10 scores for safety, income and civic engagement.
In coming up with the list, the OECD compared living standards among 362 regions across 34 OECD member-nations.
