Prince George has taken his first official family photographs with dad Prince William and mum Kate Middleton. Thanks to his grandpa Michael Middleton, the world has once again seen a glimpse of the newborn tyke since his arrival in July

The Prince of Cambridge, who was born on July 22 in London, is seen in one photo peacefully sleeping while mum Kate tenderly carries him on her arms and his dad casually poses with them in the garden of Kate’s family home in Bucklebury, Berkshire.

The other picture, meanwhile, not only shows the royal trio, but two of their four-legged family members as well. The Middleton’s family pet, a retriever named Tilly, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s own black cocker spaniel, Lupo, are both included in the family’s picnic-style family shot.

Both photos are taken by Kate’s dad, Michael earlier in August, a break with the royals’ tradition in which official photos are taken by professional photographers.

These are the first photos released by the Duke and the Duchess since they proudly showed off the future king to the public outside the St Mary’s Hospital in London a day after he was born.

“As any new parent knows, you’re only too happy to show off your new child and, you know, proclaim that he is the best looking or the best everything,” William told CNN in an interview that aired on Monday.

William, the second in line to the throne, also called his new pride and joy a “bit of a rascal.”

“He’s a little bit of a rascal, I’ll put it that way,” he continued, describing George affectionately. “He either reminds me of my brother or me when I was younger. I’m not sure, but he’s doing very well at the moment.”

Unfortunately, the little prince isn’t a fan of sleep, which is a problem for his mum.

“He wriggles around quite a lot. And he doesn’t want to go to sleep that much, which is a little bit of a problem.

William, 31, admitted that he doesn’t get up in the night as much as Kate does when George cries. The Duchess is doing a “fantastic job,” though.

His new role as a father has been a different experience for William, saying it has already changed his view on life.

“I think the last few weeks for me have been just a very different emotional experience,” he shared. “Something I never thought I would feel myself. And I find again it’s only been a short period, but a lot of things affect me differently now.”
