He may be the oldest Bieber fan but the 71-year-old Peter Johngren loves the teen heartthrob's music to help him fight the cancer disease.

This is a revelation to many who think that Justin Bieber's fans come from the teenage demographic. But the cancer patient proves that the love for music does not end in any age. Johngren, who is also known as 'Senior Biebs,' feels young again each time he listens to the 18-year-old pop star's songs.

He is a granddad from New York who is fighting for his life against prostate cancer. According to Senior Biebs, the YouTube sensation's music has helped in restoring 'his faith in humanity.' It has definitely helped him remain positive despite his sick condition.

"[Justin is] so full of life that it somehow counters my thoughts of death," Peter said in the Canada.com website.

The 71-year-old fan owns a giant collection of Bieber products that every teen fan would want to have. His Beiber collection includes T-shirts, complete CDs, magazines, autobiography, online print outs, and even ticket stubs of Bieber concerts that he and his wife attended. He describes Bieber's Albany performance as 'unbelievably terrific.'

Even at his old age, he was encouraged to join social networks like Twitter just so he can stay on track of the activities and whereabouts of his young idol. To make it more interesting and exciting, his family is planning to buy a Justin Bieber wig which Peter can wear once he loses hair after chemotherapy.

Why A Senior Male Can Be A Passionate Fan Of A Teen Star

It can seem awkward and weird for anyone to find a senior citizen getting fanatic with an extremely young singer. But according to an assistant professor in the California State University Fresno, this fandom of Senior Biebs is not at all weird.

"Religion isn't the only way that people gain assurance that death isn't the end," Kosloff said. He added that Johngren may be seeing the fullness of his youth that goes beyond death through Justin Bieber.

Maybe it is just right for Justin Bieber to take some time out to visit Peter soon.
