Omar Borkan Al Gala: Meet the Man Deported by Saudi Arabia for Being Too Handsome
One of the men who were deported from Saudi Arabia for being too handsome has finally been identified. Meet Omar Borkan Al Gala, who, along with his two still unnamed companions, were denied entrance to an event and eventually deported back to Abu Dhabi because religious police deemed them too handsome.
Earlier this month, the world's curiosity was piqued when it was reported that three Emiratis were kicked out of the annual Janadriyah Festival in Saudi Arabia because they were apparently too gorgeous for the festival's good.
"A festival official said the three Emiratis were taken out on the grounds they are too handsome and that the commission [for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vices] members feared female visitors could fall for them, according to Arabic newspaper Elaph.
The men were also ordered to be deported back to the United Arab Emirates.
Others speculated that it was not their attractiveness that was to blame for their deportation, but on the unexpected arrival of a female UAE artist.
Nevertheless, the whole world got their attention. As there were no accompanying pictures of the said delegates, people starting getting curious on what the trio look like. Exactly how handsome are they that even religious officials in another country were threatened by the effect that they might have on their women? Are they really so attractive that their looks were almost deemed as a crime? Can they be deported to my country instead?
But wonder no more! One of the three men in question has been unveiled by the U.S. Web site Jezebel, and his name is Omar Borkan Al Gala, a fashion photographer, actor, and a poet who possesses the looks that other men fear and many women admire.
His pictures, which are posted on his Facebook page, are testament to his unlawful good looks.
He appears to be a real charmer as well, if the posts on his social network account are any indication.
"The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides," he wrote.
The hunt, as they say, is still on for the other two Emiratis.
