In the previous OUAT episode, Captain Hook and Emma kissed, then Pan told Hook Baelfire is alive. Meanwhile, Henry was becoming a lost boy, or perhaps that's what the smart kid wants Pan to believe. What happens next to the most dysfunctional family ever in the fairy tale history?

The (Grown Up) Mermaid and her Snow White Connections

The arrival of Ariel into the lives of Snow White, Emma Swan and "Jolly Roger mates" have been teased since the July San Diego comic-con. "Once Upon a Time" Season 3 has been hyped with the special finned role of JoAnna Garcia Swisher.

In an interview with TVLine, JoAnna revealed how Ariel got connected to Snow White before the Evil Queen's curse fell on the Enchanted Forest.

"I save Snow White's life, so to return the favor, Snow teaches me how to be a princess. And she also urges me to be myself and tell him the truth and follow my heart and all those incredibly romantic Snow White notions," JoAnna said.

(If her surname rings a sporty bell, it's because JoAnna Garcia Swisher is married to Nicholas Thompson "Nick" Swisher of the Cleveland Indians of Major League Baseball. The stunning mermaid, believe it or not, just gave birth to a healthy baby girl in May this year.)

Once Upon a Time Season 3 is about to see another exchange of favours from sea princess to enchanted forest royalty. The mermaid may be the exit plan Tinker Bell was requiring from the Save Henry (Operation Cobra) team in Neverland. JoAnna revealed, too, that "mermaids can swim between realms." (Who needs the magic beans now?)

But wait, there's more!

Aside from the much-anticipated arrival of Ariel, there is a lot to look forward to in Once Upon a Time Season 3. It may be the best season so far, and the rise in rating supports this. Here are what viewers will see in the next episode(s):

- The evil queen will have to face her soulmate, the man with the lion tattoo. It's not Captain Hook, certain not after the Swan kiss. Those who put their money on Robin Hood may soon celebrate.
- Captain Hook will have to answer Peter Pan's implied question - Is he an honourable man if he kept from Emma Swan that Baelfire is alive - and presently in Neverland, too?
- Henry may have gained a renewed feeling of being loved after seeing grams Snow White, Storybrooke mom Regina, and real mom Emma the saviour. He may have had a bit of a "Lost Boy" moment when he scarred a boy during a pretend duel, but that moment may be over.
- OUAT fans (the Oncers) will soon find out who's hanging with Baelfire or Neal in Neverland. They will also know what has happened to Bae's dad Rumplestiltskin aka The Dark One, since their last scene together.
