Season 4 of "Once Upon A Time" may see Robert Carlyle play another iconic character. Adam Horowitz reportedly teased a new storyline for the new season with reports claiming it involves 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice" story and the actor possibly wearing the apprentice hat.

Executive producers Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis sat down for an interview with Entertainment Online, where Horowitz claimed Rumpelstiltskin (Robert Carlyle) may get a new plotline in Season 4 of "Once Upon A Time."

"I would say Rumple is going to come into possession of something very iconic to Disney and launch a story in a world that the audience is not expecting," he said.

Adam Horowitz teased this "story" will debut in the season's "premiere" and is a "nod to something very iconic in the Disney lore."

"It's going to be something that we have not talked about yet and we haven't yet referred to on the show," Adam continued.

ET hinted Rumple may come into possession of the "magical red rose with the withering petals," an iconic element in "Beauty and the Beast." However, Inquisitr's Treva Bowdin thinks otherwise. The writer claimed Adam Horowitz may be referring to Mickey Mouse's "pointy blue wizard's hat." As seen in "Fantansia," Disney's symbolic character reportedly wore the hat in "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" segment of the movie.

The apprentice's hat was also spotted in a previous episode in "Once Upon A Time." TV Line pointed it out as an easter egg in Season 1, episode title "Skin Deep." The hat was seen in Rumpelstiltskin's castle. Click here for the screen capture courtesy of Inquisitr.

Additionally, Inquisitr pointed out some interesting details to the wizard Yen Sid's name that supposedly hints the sorcerer's apprentice storyline. Yen Sid spelled backwards clearly reads Disney. This reportedy brought fans to speculate that Mr. Gold could be Yen Sid's apprentice.

The recent report revealed involving Henry's storyline in Season 4 of "Once Upon A Time" reportedly also hints of the sorcerer's apprentice storyline. Henry will be working as Mr. Gold's (Rumpelstiltskin) assistant at his store to do inventory. Inquisitr claims when he discovers the hat in Gold's possession, Henry may be the new wizard's apprentice.

However, there is still no confirmation whether "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" storyline will indeed be featured in the new season. Fans may have to wait and see when Season 4 of "Once Upon A Time" premieres on Sept. 28 on ABC.
