‘Once Upon A Time’ Season 5 Spoilers: Dark Swan, Captain Hook disagree on what happens next to Zelena [Watch Promo Video]

“Once Upon A Time” Season 5 is about to end its first half of the season. There is no new episode this week, but ABC delivered two episodes on Nov. 15. Dark Swan (Jennifer Morrison) and Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) face a big conflict, and Zelena (Rebecca Mader) is taking advantage of the situation.

In Episode 8 (“Birth”) of OUAT 5, Captain hook finally learns the truth about Emma’s motivations. It turns out that everything the Dark Swan has been doing since they left Camelot is all for Hook’s welfare. That’s the good news. The bad news is Captain Hook has somehow become the Dark One, too. So now there are two “dark ones,” as Zelena puts it.

Captain Hook traveled through time and realms to seek vengeance against the Dark One when it was still Mr Gold a.k.a. Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle). Now, his name is on the Excalibur, together with Emma Swan. Will he come around and stay on Team Swan, or will he succumb to darkness completely?

Zelena is on a vengeful path against Emma. Seeing Hook and Swan divided reveals Emma’s weakness to the ever-green villain. Shippers are about to find out if the power of true love is enough for their Captain Swan.

For those who are not caught up, “Once Upon A Time” Season 5A is centred on Emma Swan as the new Dark One. This chapter has side stories on King Arthur (Liam Garrigan), Guinevere (Joana Metrass), Lancelot (Sinqua Walls) and the kingdom of Camelot. Merida (Amy Manson) is also in, acting as link to returning characters Mulan (Jamie Chung) and Red Riding Hood (Meghan Ory) in OUAT 5 Episode 9.

Zelena, the main villain of OUAT 3B, is crucial to Emma’s plans to free Captain Hook and herself from the chains of dark magic. Emma’s plan is to turn Zelena into the new vessel of darkness and defeat her with light magic. This means extinguishing Zelena and dark magic all together. “She killed Neal,” Emma tells Hook when he told her it was an evil plan.

Regina makes it clear to Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) that she will not let Emma hurt Zelena. She says she is the only one who is allowed to hurt her sister. How will Regina continue to help Emma now?

Mr Gold appears briefly in “Once Upon A Time” Season 5 Episode 8. As the character who pulled the Excalibur from the rock, he is a brave hero now. Fans expect him to be a crucial character in the final two episodes of OUAT 5A. Watch the OUAT 5x10 promo video to see Hook confront him again.

There is no new episode of “Once Upon A Time” Season 5 this Sunday. Its home network ABC is airing the 2015 American Music Awards. There are two episodes left in OUAT 5 before the series slips into hiatus. Fans should not miss the fall finale episode on Dec. 6.
