The boys of One Direction are on a roll with all the latest on-goings on this year. For fans who don't know why, well, the boys are set to film their first ever 3D movie in Japan. "Directioners" better get those tickets ready because Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles and Zayn Malik are ready to get in action in Tokyo.

Morgan Spurlock has confirmed that the boys are set to head to Tokyo to film One Direction in 3D this week. If this isn't news enough, well fans will be delighted to know that the film is set to be released as early as August. TriStar films confirm the news.

"Once they can crack that nut of having a true 3D experience where you don't have to have those glasses or sit at a certain angle, it will become a conversation again," said Spurlock with regards to the film being 3D.

"These guys have gotten so huge in such a short amount of time - why?" explained Spurlock, adding, "What makes them more special than any other people?"

The boys are excited to work with Spurlock and to have the whole film going on.

"Morgan works well because ... he did a lot of documentary movies. It's going to be a concert movie, but with a documentary side than concert side so we wanted to get our personalities across because the fans know us, but we want them to know us deeper," said Niall Horan.

Even Daddy Simon Cowell, the founder of the boys, is excited for the One Direction 3D film.

"I'm delighted we're making this film and Morgan is the perfect person to give that access-all-areas, behind-the-scenes look into what it's like to be One Direction today. What the band have achieved is incredible, they and their fans have made history around the world -- this is for them," said Cowell in a statement back in November of 2012.

While the film is bound to make the boys schedule even busier, there are still concerts and tours scheduled for the year before the shoot takes place. One Direction is set to perform in Tokyo on January 18 and 19 before heading out to the UK, the US and Canada.

"Rehearsals goin really well for tour! Settin down vocals and harmonies at the moment!" tweeted Horan, adding the following over the weekend, "Unbelievable rehearsal with @JohnShoneKeys @JoshDevineDrums @SandyBeales and @GuitarManDan today!"
