One Direction boys might have a little new member in their group soon. Simon Cowell's son Eric Cowell has showed his skills on drums earlier and now there is speculation in the media that the 10-month-old will appear in the music video of One Direction. The music mogul reportedly believes that his son's cameo with the One Direction boys would be a great opportunity for him to be introduced to the world. The proud father had earlier posted a video of Eric on social media where he was seen playing drums. "One Direction have just hired Eric as their new drummer," Simon captioned the video, which can be seen here.

The video shows cute little Eric sitting on the floor and playing the red drums with full vigor and interest as the band's music plays in the background. The band members, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan were first discovered by Simon Cowell on his show "The X-Factor." "Simon was saying how much Eric loves playing on his little drum set and how he is already into music. He said he'd like to see his son in a One Direction video and thinks it'd be hilarious," tv3.ie has quoted a source as saying.

The news is yet to be confirmed officially by Simon and it is not sure if he is actually serious about Eric's appearance in One Direction's music video or was just joking. But various websites are speculating that the boys will not be able to say no to the media mogul if he plans to put Eric in their video, as it is because of Simon that the boyband came into existence. "With Simon it's always hard to tell whether he's being fully serious but you also never know what he has up his sleeve. He is certainly accustomed to getting his own way. So don't be surprised if the boys are not the youngest stars of their next video for a change," the source added.

Eric is the son of Simon and his partner Lauren Silverman. Lauren is ex-wife of Simon's old friend Andrew Silverman and the two were in the process of filing for divorce when Lauren announced she was pregnant with Simon's child. "The X-Factor" judge took some time to accept the fact that he is going to be a daddy but has now accepted his son completely and is often seen doting on him in public.
