One Direction ‘emotional’ during final US concert near band hiatus, promises to see fans ‘very soon’
One Direction took to the stage on Friday, Dec. 4, to bid farewell to their US fans as they held their last performance in the country prior the band’s upcoming hiatus.
Friday night marked the last time that One Direction performed on a U.S concert stage prior their upcoming March hiatus, according to E News. The four member boy band comprised of Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan, was one of the performers during the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball held at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
One Direction band member Payne told the concert crowd that the show was “kind of an important one” for the group. "This is going to be the last time for a little while,” he said. “I feel myself getting a little emotional." Payne even promised One Direction fans during Friday’s concert that the band will perform again after their hiatus. He stated, "We will see you very soon."
The One Direction singer also mentioned the same sentiment during their 102.7 KIISFM interview, E News reports. Payne admitted he was “sad” over the band’s upcoming hiatus. However, he stated that it won’t be the last time that the fans will see them perform on stage.
"But it's not our last show ever,” he stated. “That's the important thing the people need to get. This is just our little crescendo."
In other news, with only a few weeks left before the start of 2016, the four member boy band shared with People magazine some of their New Year resolutions for next year. Horan has a fitness plan set up for 2016 and stated that he wants to “succeed in the gym” this coming year.
“I’m going to train….,” he told People magazine. “I always do it when I'm on tour and then when I get home, I'm c---. Yeah, I would like to succeed properly and get the job done."
Payne, on the other hand, is looking to give up smoking in 2016. He also admitted to People magazine that the challenge will be “hard” but it’s something he wants to do. "I'm going to try and give up smoking,” he said. “I want to. It's about time. Need to grow up now."
Meanwhile, Styles has yet to pin down his New Year’s resolution and told People magazine that it was “too early” for him. However, Tomlinson claimed that he should be counted “out” and explained, "I never stick to mine.”
