"Directioners" and "Beliebers" have waged war on each other. How and why did the battle between the fan bases even start? Well, blame it on Justin Bieber for tweeting lyrics from a song which according to "Directioners" was a rip off from the hit song of One Direction.

Justin Bieber and the boys of One Direction may have a healthy rivalry. Yet, that isn't stopping their fans from being extremely touchy-feely and judgmental when it comes to songs, videos and everything else. Sure Justin may be recording buddies with Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles and Liam Payne but their fans don't really see it as "real" friendship.

So what's all the juice about now? Apparently, both Justin Bieber and One Direction are up for the award for Best Pop Video for the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. One Direction's video for "What Makes You Beautiful" is nominated while Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend" is also up for the award.

Though the videos are one thing that has created a rivalry between the fans, there is one more heavy beef between the two sides. What is it exactly? Apparently, Justin sent out a tweet of song lyrics he'd be singing with Carly Rae Jepsen that greatly resembled lyrics from One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful" and Ed Sheeran's "Wake Me Up."

"What makes you so beautiful is that you don't know how beautiful you are... to me. Now #KISS @carlyraejepsen #Sept18," tweeted the Canadian crooner.

Twitter exploded that minute of which tweets involved angry One Direction fans saying the lyrics were a complete rip off. "Beliebers" have gone to extremes to support Justin Bieber saying the lyrics were his and that nothing even in music is original. However, this explanation didn't fare well with "Directioners who have gone from Twitter to Tumblr to express their madness over the issue.

"We've reached a new level of this fandom war," says one post. While another post says, "Shits going down... September 18thm you better "belieb" it."

With all the hate going around between the fans, hopefully Justin Bieber comes up with a good explanation. Or better yet, the boys of One Direction come up with a statement to calm their own fans down for the sake of music.
