One Direction's Harry Styles to Collaborate with Take That's Gary Barlow
"Directioners" might be hearing similarities between One Direction and Take That songs in the near future. Well, that's because Harry Styles is set to write a few of them with Take That singer, Gary Barlow. Does this also mean Styles is seriously considering a solo song writing and singing career?
Fans of the British boy band, One Direction were caught in frenzy early in June due to Harry Styles solo being leaked on the web. The said song was a sign that the boy band would soon disband. However, representatives of One Direction spoke up on the matter reassuring fans Harry wasn't slated to leave.
"It's an old song from a year-and-a-half ago and was a demo for a possible1D album track," said the band's spokesman, adding, "It's not a solo song, nothing to get excited about."
The single "Don't Let Me Go" by Harry Styles was an old project he had written with Sam McCarthy. It was supposedly a track for "Take Me Home" but wasn't able to make the final cut. Obviously, Styles has a penchant for penning songs which is exactly his plans to date with Take That singer, Gary Barlow.
These British men were spotted at the Soho House in New York City. According to onlookers, Harry and Gary were busy talking about song writing techniques.
"They had a great afternoon talking about Gary's life in Take That as a young bloke and then more recently. Harry is an attentive guy and really listens. He likes keeping older company and soaks up as much advice as he can get," said an insider to The Sun, adding, "Gary talked him through his songwriting techniques and offered to write with him whenever they get the chance."
Harry Styles is definitely the most dedicated member of the band taking on the role of 1D's songwriter. Hopefully, Styles' next song writing creation makes it into the One Direction's upcoming album. Early reports claimed the boys are working on two albums set for a release this 2013.
As for other 1D news, the boys' highly-anticipated film, "This Is Us" is set to hit theatres this summer.
