One Direction's Niall Horan Hits Own Face with a Basketball [VIDEO]

One Direction member Niall Horan accidentally hit his own face while bouncing a basketball in a car park in Sydney, Australia. The unfortunate but funny incident which lasted for about 8 seconds was caught on camera and uploaded on Youtube by Ashley Bellamy on Oct 6, 2013.

As the band continues their tour in Sydney, 20-year-old Niall decided to take some time out to goof around with friends. However, the light-hearted moment quickly turned into an embarrassing fiasco when he ended up smacking his face with a ball that he tried to bounce off towards another person.

It all started with him holding the ball above his head in the air. Then, he bounced it on the ground a little too hard. The ball rebounded and smashed him in the face, knocking his sunglasses off in the process.

Horan was obviously mortified, so to save face, he immediately ran off while laughing at himself.

It's a good thing he was able to retain his sense of humor. Otherwise, it would have been bad if he was caught getting mad and cursing at the ball or his friends for laughing at him.

Niall, who is from Mullingar, County Westmeath, Republic of Ireland, isn't the only One Direction member who experienced a humiliating incident in Sydney. His fellow band member Liam Payne also got involved in an embarrassing situation when two fans climbed into the balcony of the hotel room he was staying in and then stole his Calvin Klein boxers which was left hanging outside to dry.

In show business, fame comes with a cost. One Direction may be rich and famous, but when they make mistakes or get embarrassed, it instantly becomes news and they will hear about it for a long time, with photos or videos as evidence that it really happened.

Niall Horan, also called by his nickname Nialler, is a member of the One Direction boy band along with Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson. What will be next for these famous boys? Fans are waiting with bated breath for their next move.
