The tennis superstars aren't the only ones that make the temperatures rising at the 2014 Australian Open. The top-ranked players should get themselves ready for the hottest Grand Slam event of 2014 as extensive heatwave pushes through across the nation.

The temperatures are anticipated to reach 41 degrees Celsius in Melbourne in time for the kickoff of the 2014 Australian Open. The temperature is forecasted at 35 degrees Celsius on Monday and 41 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. Then, for the rest of the week, on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, the temperatures are anticipated to hit 39, 40, and 41 degrees Celsius, respectively. The players can certainly expect a very hot tournament.

"Every indication is that the heat is likely to linger and there'll be high-20s through the second week of the tennis," Weatherzone meteorologist Sam Brown told the Sydney Morning Herald.

Well, it sure looks like the players will have to endure the weather conditions which are likely to keep on for the next few days before subsiding later in the tournament.

Maria Sharapova, seeded third in the tournament, has revealed that the current weather conditions will surely be a challenge for every player.

"I don't think anyone can prepare themselves for that type of heat," said the Russian hottie. "I think it's tough to train to a very high level in that type of heat," she added.

As for the second-ranked male player, Novak Djokovic, he said that he will just have to deal with it. "I know how tough it is, but it's the same for myself and my opponent so you have to adjust to it," he added.

It doesn't seem to be the same case for the top-ranked female athlete, Serena Williams. "I've been training my whole life in the heat," Williams stated. "I think I'm pretty used to it," Williams added. She said that she will be ready to play no matter what under any circumstances.

The 2014 Australian Open is likely going to beat the hottest record in terms of average daily temperature when it was documented at 34.7 degrees Celsius in 2009.
