One Million Samsung Galaxy S5 Units Sold in Germany
The Samsung Flagship Device is Doing Well
The Korean giant Samsung when it launched the Galaxy S5 it was received very kindly, but did not get the attention enjoyed by Galaxy S4. This smartphone faded from popularity when the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge were announced. However, according to Samsung their flagship device is doing great. Well it has reached sales of over a million in Germany alone. These numbers that Samsung is speaking about does not reflect the number of units shipped to stores in Germany, but the actual number of units that the customers have bought.
The smartphone company did do well after the release of Galaxy S5, though Apple announced the launch of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus that had large displays of 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches respectively. Apparently, Apple had treaded the path of Samsung by introducing the iPhones with large displays.
The Galaxy S5 did business, but not to the mark of the Galaxy S3 or the Galaxy S4. However, within some 10 days of its release over 10 million units of Galaxy S3 were shipped worldwide. This could be due to the fact that Samsung had good carrier partnerships and availability in many countries.
SamMobile the site that provides exclusive information regarding Samsung's upcoming devices and software updates states that Galaxy S5 is still the primary flagship smartphone of the Korean company until the Galaxy Note 4 goes on sale. According to Samsung the Galaxy S5 is faring very well in Germany announcing that it sold 1 million units in the country. These are figures of the unit of the smartphone bought by customers, not retailers and the millionth customer was awarded a €500 voucher.
The Galaxy S5 became is the best seller of Samsung by reaching its milestone in just 25 days beating the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, Galaxy S2 and Galaxy S that held records of 27days, 50 days, 150 days and 210 days respectively.
The Galaxy S5 is at present on sale in over 125 countries and it will be interesting to see whether it will hold its ground like the S3 and S4 that have sold 60 to 40 million units worldwide.
