One-year-old Baby Shot Dead in Brooklyn
An unknown gunman shot Antiq Hannis, the 1-year-old baby, Sunday night in Brooklyn. The young baby was out with his parents in his stroller on Sunday night when an unknown gunman fired 4 shots in Brooklyn, New York. One of the 4 shots entered the left side of the baby boy's head, leaving him dead. The child was taken to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
It is yet to be confirmed whom exactly the unknown gunman had targeted, the police informed. The young Hannis used to live a few blocks away from the Riverdale Avenue where he had been shot dead.
Gina Gamboa was talking to the New York Times regarding the tragic incident she had witnessed. She went there to visit her boyfriend when she heard 3 gunshots. She saw a man standing near the baby while another one was running away.
The stroller was completely covered in blood as the man near the baby started running around as he shouted that the baby had been shot. The head of the baby was to the side, she added. Ms Gamboa appeared clueless why the baby could be a target of the unknown gunman, but she expressed her disgust on how people preferred killing due to "stupid" reasons.
The streets were shut down by the police officers. The residents who came to the site to see what had happened there were not allowed initially to enter their individual residences. Interestingly, there was no one who had been hurt in the incident. On the other hand, the family of the deceased baby refused to speak to journalists.
The police may like to ponder over the law and order in the area as another 3-year-old was shot to be critically wounded in Brooklyn in August. A young man, 22, has been charged for the same offence.
