OnePlus 3 release date gets revealed accidently; Specifications surface once again
A OnePlus live chat representative has reportedly revealed the OnePlus 3 release date. The specifications of the upcoming OnePlus flagship have been revealed once again ahead of its launch date in June.
A live chat agent of OnePlus seems to have accidently revealed the OnePlus 3 release date. According to him, the company will be holding a virtual reality launch event on June 14.
In the previous year, the OnePlus 2 smartphone was launched through VR event that could be viewed through Google Cardboard VR headsets. Now, the Chinese firm is providing free Loop VR headsets for watching the launch event.
OnePlus has teamed by with AntVR to build the Loop VR headset that can be used with any smartphone featuring 5-inch or 6-inch screen. In order to acquire a Loop VR headset, users will have to visit the OnePlus website. Even though the company is offering Loop VR headsets for free, customers will have to bear shipping charges.
According to well-known tipster, Evan Blass, the OnePlus 3 will be coming with a 5.5-inch screen that will support full HD resolution. Like other 2016 flagships, the OnePlus 3 will be featuring Snapdragon 820 under its hood. It is expected to arrive with an inbuilt storage of 64 GB.
The smartphone will be arriving with a 16 MP rear shooter. A selfie shot by Pete Lau, the CEO of OnePlus, indicates that the OnePlus 3 will be packed with an 8 MP front-facing camera. It will also feature NFC connectivity.
The screenshot shared by Blass suggests that the smartphone will be launched with Android N OS that will be overlaid with OxygenOS 3.1.0. Since the smartphone is expected to launch next month, rumours are indicating that it will arrive preinstalled with Android M OS. However, it will be soon upgraded to Android N.
OnePlus 3 rumours indicate that the smartphone will be available in two variants. The 32 GB model of OnePlus 3 will feature 4 GB of RAM and it is expected to cost $310 (AU$429). The 64 GB edition of the smartphone that is speculated to include 6 GB of RAM is rumoured to be priced at $385 (AU$534).
