Oprah Winfrey gave away $1 million-worth computers and equipments to Canterbury Boys High School. The choir from the local school performed at The Oprah Winfrey Show shot today at the Sydney Opera House.

Hollywood's top talk show host gifted the schools with HP and Microsoft computers and gears, . The gift includes a laptop for every teacher and student at the school. They were also presented an Xbox 360 video game system. The Canterbury Boys High School has a student population of 483 in 2009 with 90% of its students coming from non-English speaking background.

Microsoft has also partnered with Oprah Winfrey for a check worth $250, 000 given to a man who was battling cancer. As part of the show, Bon Jovi and Jay-Z each gave a performance to the delight of the 6000-strong audience present at today's filming. The family of Australian crocodile hunter Steve Irwin was also in the show.

Australian actor Russell Crowe also graced the show. Oprah Wnfrey and Crowe had previoulsy taken a cruise around Sydney Harbour together with Oprah's 300 Chicago audience.

The Oprah Winfrey Show episodes shot at the Sydney Opera House is part of the country's tourism promotion with funding from the federal and NSW government. It will be aired January next year, and marks the beginning of the 25th and final season of the show.
