Oprah in Australia: 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' shoots at Sydney Opera House today
More than 3000 audience of The Oprah WInfrey Show troop today at the Sydney Opera House for the first of the episodes to be shot in Australia. With its Australian episodes, the show marks its 25th and final season.
At today's filming, Hollywood top rapper Jay-Z will perform for Oprah and her audience. Jay-Z is in Australia to support Irish band U2 in the Australian leg of their 360 world tour concert series. His wife, Beyonce Knowles, is also in Australia but it's not yet confirmed if she will be in the episode.
Cate Blanchett, Russell Crowe, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are among the Australian celebrities and personalities expected to be present at the The Oprah Winfrey Show. Keith Urban has earlier confirmed that he would perform at the show.
Yesterday, Oprah Winfrey took a cruise around the Sydney harbour with actor Russell Crowe and her 300 audience after previously climbing the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Oprah and her audience also visited the Great Barrier Reef, Kangaroo Island, Uluru and the Yarra Valley. She made her only public appearance in Federation Square in Melbourne where she met with Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard in the afternoon.
Oprah's ongoing trip in Australia is part of the country's tourism promotion with funding from the federal and NSW government.
