Oprah Winfrey defends Kardashian-Jenner clan against bashers
Oprah Winfrey, the undisputed “Queen of Talk,” is coming to the defense of the Kardashian-Jenner clan. After receiving fresh criticism from actress Rebel Wilson for the age-old accusation that they are “famous for no talent,” the reality TV family has found an ally in one of the most influential woman in show business.
“I interviewed the Kardashians two years ago and I can’t believe how hard they work,” said Oprah, as she spoke about the issue on Australia’s “Kyle and Jackie O Show” on KIIS FM. She described a seven-hour shoot that she did with the family, and the many more hours of filming that they had to do that day. Vanity Fair shared excerpts from the interview, where Oprah came to the defense of the often-bashed reality show clan.
“People think, ‘Oh, if a television camera’s just following you, then that’s just easy.’ To really create a reality series that looks like something’s actually happening, it means you have to be on all the time,” she said. She also mentioned other stars who may be great actors and actresses, but they are unable to cope with the constant glare of the reality TV show spotlight.
Oprah used Lindsay Lohan as a prime example, saying that the actress agreed to have cameras follow her around, but she later realised that it’s a lot of work. She starred in the now defunct reality series titled “Lindsay,” which aired on Oprah’s TV channel OWN. Oprah explains that making everything look real and to have something happening all the time, takes a great amount of effort.
The Kardashian-Jenner clan have been bashed for years, often accused of having no talent. Haters also take every opportunity to remind the public about Kim Kardashian’s infamous sex tape which came out way back in 2007. Rebel Wilson is the latest personality to openly criticise the family by refusing to present with Kendall and Kylie Jenner at the MTV Video Music Awards simply because she thought they “seem a bit superficial.”
