Oprah Winfrey Gives Away A New Car To Random ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ Audience Member [VIDEO]
Oprah Winfrey just can’t help herself being generous. The retired talk show host stopped by the late night show “Jimmy Kimmel Live” to promote her new film, but had been suddenly attacked by her rare illness, in which she just had to give away a new car. And give a new car she did!
The billionaire media mogul famously gave away a brand new car (donated by General Motors) to every person in her studio audience in 2004 when she was still hosting the eponymous “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” She already had a reputation of being extremely generous even before then, but the cars took it to a new level.
Her daytime show ended in May 2011.
On Wednesday in Los Angeles, Oprah was a guest at Jimmy’s program to promote “Lee Daniels’ The Butler” when she suddenly “got that feeling.”
“I really didn’t want it to happen here, but I’m getting it,” Oprah appeared to panic at the middle of her conversation with the host.
“You lady in the blue, come up here,” she pointed to a random member of the audience, who was shortly introduced as Britney.
“You get a car!” Oprah burst out her famous words to the stunned Britney, giving the young woman the key.
Jimmy seemed not to have a clue on what was happening, although it was most probably just acting on his part.
“I don’t understand what’s going on. We don’t have a car,” Jimmy said.
His sidekick, Guillermo, then accompanied Britney outside the studio to show her her brand new Ford Fusion Energi Hybrid, which was donated by Ford.
“I feel better. I started to get this under control. It happens every once in a while, Jimmy, especially if I skip lunch,” Oprah explained her rare “condition” to Jimmy.
It’s not known whether the whole thing was just an act, but it doesn’t appear to be so. After all, Oprah pulled a more extravagant giveaway than this before.
Later on, she tweeted the experience, writing, “@jimmykimmel THAT was fun! I don’t know what came over me! #yougetaCar”
