The queen of talk and one of the most powerful women in the world had an incident with a racial slur.

Oprah Winfrey said she had experienced racism in Zurich.

The queen of talk was in Switzerland for the wedding of singer Tina Turner. Over the week, she had decided to go shopping and had spotted an expensive handbag.

She recalled the incident to Larry King and had also told Entertainment Tonight about what had happened upon entering the Trois Pommes boutique. She was in the boutique and had wanted to see a handbag when the clerk said that it was "too expensive" for her and that she may check the other handbags that were in the store.

Winfrey was shocked by the slur and had wanted to purchase the entire store like in the movie "Pretty Woman". She decided not to do such a thing as the clerk would get a commission.

The owner of the store had defended the clerk saying it was not their employee's intention but to show the talk show host that there were other bags that were worth purchasing than the one she wanted to take a look at.

Switzerland Tourism had released an apology saying:

"Switzerland Tourism is deeply sorry to learn about the experience Ms. Winfrey recently had in Switzerland, and we apologize that her feelings were hurt. We would like to assure Ms. Winfrey -- like any visitor to Switzerland -- that she is welcome with open arms."

As the store says that it was a simple "misunderstanding", Oprah had said that she was glad she didn't purchase the item in a tweet she posted.

"Turns out that store clerk did me a favor. Just found out that bag was $38K!!! She was right I was NOT going to buy it,"

She had also tweeted the following, "Other than the handbag diss. I had a GREAT time in Zurich,"

Well we hope she did at Tina Turner's wedding.
