Optus Business and Cisco announce updates on Cisco platforms, VCaaS and Contact-Centre-as-a-Service
Optus Business and Cisco has collaborated to create a smart workplace and to accelerate digital transformation on businesses and government organisations in Australia. The company said that the new services and technologies launched with Cisco were designed to the workplace of the future. The new services and technologies would empower users to be more productive, engage the business with customers in new ways, reduce cost and complexity and increase teamwork and efficiencies.
Optus Business Managing Director John Paitaridis said that the two companies have worked together to help the customers in discussing every new wave of technology disruption. He said that Optus Business' extensive experience in bringing the right people and technologies has made the company to be the ideal provider for Cisco products and services that businesses and government organisations used.
Cisco Spark is a highly secure and cloud-based collaboration solution featuring document sharing capabilities, easy-to-use voice, video and chat. It is integrated with Optus Unified-Communications-as-a-Service (UCaaS) that could be managed end-to-end. Cisco Meraki is now fully managed by Optus Business that allowed customers to reallocate and to concentrate sources using its new integrated system.
Optus Business also extended UCaaS feature by using the Video-Conferencing-as-a-Service (VCaaS) in performing multi-party video conferences using meeting room video units and software clients. VCaaS would allow the customers to perform multi-party video conferences within and outside their organisation.
Cisco Systems Australia New Zealand Vice President Ken Boal said that both companies believed that smart network was fundamental to the business transformation journey. “Whether its applications, security, cloud, collaboration or networks, customers want partners who understand this spectrum of managed technology and services. With its strong market position and shared ambition to deliver meaningful change for customers, I’m thrilled to expand our partnership with Optus Business," Boal said.
In 2016, Optus Business and Cisco announced a $12 million co-investment that aimed to develop local capabilities focusing on cloud orchestration, vocational education and training programs and smart campus. The collaboration would take one year of intense research and planning.
Optus Business has gained awards in 2016 including Cloud Solution Excellence Partner of the Year, Services Partner of the Year, Architectural Excellence in Enterprise Networking for Asia Pacific and Japan and Community Contribution Award. The company has also committed on mobile coverage updates in the different location in Australia including the Clarence Valley, Coffs Harbour, Launceston and Northern Tasmania. The company has collaborated with Huawei to launch 5G technology in the near future.
