"Orange is the New Black" revolves around women inmates, but this is one crime that was not written by its creator Jenji Kohan.

"A sticky-fingered thief swiped $4,000 worth of five-wire banded cables from the set of "Orange is the New Black" after a film shoot in Brooklyn," according to police officials as quoted by New York Daily News. The thief was able to commit the crime and get away despite a guard keeping a watch. The guard said to the cops that he did not find any unusual activity.

The report said that theft happened after the team of the "Orange is the New Black" had finished shooting in front of Grace United Methodist Church on Seventh Avenue and St. John's Place on October 30, 2013. Till now, no arrests have been made.

Reacting to the news of the theft, Kate Mulgrew tweeted: "This is not cool. They should be sent to the shut ..."

"Orange is the Black" is based on the memoir of the same name by Piper Kerman. The first season of this drama comedy has gained both critical acclaim and loyal audience base. According to DNAinfo New York, Kerman does not live far away from the crime place.

One of the Netflix original drama series, "Orange is the New Black" is scheduled to return sometime in 2014. The new season is moving away from Piper Chapman's centric story to focus on all the characters. It is expected to be more "ensemble" in character.

Samira Wiley, who portrays the recurring role of Poussey Washington, had said to Screen Crush that they are "right in the middle of the season. I don't remember exactly what episode, but everyone's hard at work right now."

"I'm really excited for people to see more of everyone, Poussey, all the ladies there. Even if we don't go far into people's backstories, just their day-to-day prison lives," Samira had said. "In season 2, we're gonna get deeper, we're gonna know who these ladies are on a deeper level, even if we don't get to know how each got in prison."
