Season One of "Orange is the New Black" proved to be highly successful for Netflix. It had ordered the second season, a few days before the season one premiered on July 11, 2013. The filming of second season of "Orange is the New Black" has started and it is expected to be richer and deeper than Season 1.

In an interview with HuffPost Live, Taylor Schilling, who plays the character of Piper Chapman, said "All of the characters and all of the dynamics are just going deeper. It's just getting fuller and richer and to me, more compelling."

There is much speculation that her co-star Laura Prepon, who plays the role of lesbian inmate, is likely to leave Netflix original series. There are rumours that she will appear only in a few episodes when "Orange is the New Black" returns, with a new season. The actress has not yet confirmed whether she is staying on or leaving the hit comedy-drama series, created by Jenji Kohan. Netflix called the news "not accurate" and did not elaborate, further. "Our season is still developing and nothing is confirmed," a representative of Netflix had said, as quoted by Vulture.

Prepon had tweeted: "So stoked to be working on some great projects lately. Can't wait to get back to NY soon to start shooting. #thanksforallyoursupport." The tweet does allude to more than one project. However, New York is where the filming of "The Orange is the New Black" takes place.

Netflix's "Orange is the New Black" is based on Piper Kerman's memoir "Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women's Prison." Kerman's past catches-up with her -- when she had delivered a suitcase of drug money. She is convicted and sentenced to 15 months of prison time. In the Netflix's comedy-drama series, Chapman is convicted of carrying drug-money for her ex-girlfriend Alex Vause and gets a sentence of 15 months.

"The Orange is the New Black" Season 2 is slated to premiere sometime in the beginning of 2014.
