"Orange is the New Black" is expected to return for its second season sometime in 2014. The first season of the critically acclaimed, original Netflix drama series has wrapped-up but the buzz around this show refuses to die down. The social networking sites had exploded with the news of Laura Prepon, who plays the popular lesbian character Alex Vause, quitting the show.

Later, the media was abuzz with reports of Laura appearing in only one episode in "Orange is the New Black" Season 2 to wrap-up her character's story. The actress broke her silence and said that she will be "definitely" back in the new season. However, there are no confirmed reports of her leaving "Orange is the New Black," or staying back.

Created by Jenji Kohan, "Orange Is the New Black" is based on Piper Kerman's memoir by the same name. The second season of this show was ordered before the first episode premiered on July 11, 2013.

Taylor Schilling plays the principal character, Piper Chapman. Piper and Alex were ex-lovers. They are inmate in the same prison, serving their prison term. At New York's PaleyFest, Kohan did not confirm the fate of Laura's character, but said that "you will definitely see her." She also revealed that the focus will no longer be completely on the character of Piper Chapman.

The new season of "Orange is the New Black" will be more of "ensemble" in character. All the characters will have more screen time. "As much as I love Piper and Taylor and her journey, I think people are interested in everybody's journey," Jenji said as quoted by TV Guide.

In the new season of "Orange is the New Black," Piper is going to find it difficult to cope-up with being single in prison. Taylor believes this will help Piper to find herself and come to terms with that.

"Orange Is the New Black" is slated to start airing in Australia on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 on Showcase.
