According to Entertainment Weekly, "the alliances shift thanks to a new prisoner [Vee] who turns Litchfield into a 'summer camp from hell'." The trailer provides a glimpse of both fun and drama that can be expected in season two.

Jenji Kohan, creator of the show, has said that the upcoming season will address the realities of the prison. "We had a theme for season 2. A little darker, a little more fractured. We wanted to explore the groups one at a time," Kohan said to Entertainment Weekly. "It was getting a little summer-campy, and we wanted to address the realities that this is prison."

As previously reported, the new season will be telling backstories of other characters, and will no longer just focus on Chapman's character. The episodes showing the backstories of Lorna, Taystee, and Poussey are expected to be the highlight of the new season, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Recently, Laura Prepon, who plays Alex Vause," took to Instagram to inform that "Orange is the New Black" has been renewed for Season 3. She will be appearing in four episodes of Season 2 and will be seen leaving Litchfield. However, she is set to return as a series regular in Season 3.
