"Orange is the New Black" premiered on Web-streaming site, Netflix, in July and soon captivated the audience, receiving both critical acclaim and commercial success. Based on the memoir of the same name, written by Piper Kerman, the first season of "Orange is the New Black" has significantly added to the profit of Netflix. The second season promises to deliver much richer content.

The filming of the second season of "Orange is the New Black" is currently going on in New York. Samira Wiley, who portrays the recurring role of Poussey Washington, said to Screen Crush that they are "right in the middle of the season. I don't remember exactly what episode, but everyone's hard at work right now."

The actress said that the new season cannot be predicted by anyone. "I know it's going to be way better than anything I could ever come up with," Samira said.

The second season of "Orange is the New Black" is not going to focus completely on Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), but will give equal important to other characters. It will be more "ensemble" in character.

"I'm really excited for people to see more of everyone, Poussey, all the ladies there. Even if we don't go far into people's backstories, just their day-to-day prison lives," Samira said. "In season 2, we're gonna get deeper, we're gonna know who these ladies are on a deeper level, even if we don't get to how each got in prison."

"We'll see so much more of them, who they are, and what their morals are, what their alliances are. I think season 2 is going to be so much better than season 1."

Netflix is yet to announce when "Orange is the New Black" will return for its second season. Riding on the success of "Orange is the New Black" and "House of Cards," Netflix recently reported a net income of $31.8 million for the third quarter of 2013.
