The speculations regarding the length of Laura Prepon's role in the second season of "Orange is the New Black" refuse to die down. The latest buzz is that the actress, who plays the lesbian inmate Alex Vause and former-lover of Piper Chapman, will return for four episodes in the upcoming season.

In Aug., Buzzfeed had first reported that Prepon is likely to quit "Orange is the New Black." Later, Buzzfeed reported that the actress is likely to return for an episode to wrap-up her story line.

The latest from Buzzfeed is that Prepon will return for four episodes in the second season. Her story-line is likely to be more open-ended in the upcoming season. She is currently "negotiating" her role in the third season.

Reacting to the news of her leaving "Orange is the New Black," Prepon had said to Variety in September, "I know what's happening, but I can't spoil anything. But I'm definitely coming back for season two. I know there's a lot floating around, but I can't wait to get back there. It's exciting."

According to the Buzzfeed report, Prepon is likely to start shooting for her episodes soon in New York.

The new season of "Orange is the New Black" will be "ensemble" in character, and the main focus will no longer be on Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling). The stories of all the characters of "Orange is the New Black" will get screen time in the new season, which is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2014.

"It's becoming much more of an ensemble," Jenji Kohan, creator of "Orange is the New Black," had said to TV Guide. "As much as I love Piper and Taylor and her journey, I think people are interested in everybody's journey.

Netflix or anyone from "Orange is the New Black" has not yet given any official comment on Prepon's status in the new season.
